The last time I decided to do a Road Trip in Scotland was about 2 years ago.
Heading back to the Highlands, but after visiting the North West 2 years ago this time I am going to the North East, to John o’Groats.
John o’Groats is the furthest inhabited town in Great Britain. 870miles away from Land’s End which is located on the South West part of Great Britain.
John o’Groats is most often the start or end of walks or cycles to link the 2 extreme points of Great Britain. Most of the time done for charity.
This part of the Highlands reminds me of the Isle of Skye but is so different from the West which is more mountainous.

Tip if you want to stay in John o’Groats :
If you would like to find a cheerful, nice and scenic B&B overlooking Stroma Island, don’t hesitate to book at “John o’Groats Guest House” http://www.johnogroatsguesthouse.com. Mary & Mark will be happy to welcome you and make you feel at home ! 😊
